Ford has brought a lot of variation in its engine types, and the capacities are different. Changes came year by year. You will find some consistency in a few years, and then some changes come.
From 1999 to 2003 there were only 3 types of engine, then it was for low range and local use. As well, the oil capacity was the same as 6 quarts.
From 2004 to 2014, the engine types were the same for the next 10 years. But the oil capacity changed into two types, 6 and 7.7 quarts.
